General AC Questions

There’s no single ballpark figure we can give you, since the right system, and the price, depends on your home’s size, layout and existing wiring. Rather than a rough phone estimate, Marsh Air prefers a free in-home consultation, so the quote you get reflects your house, not a generic package.

A standard split system installation is usually completed in a half a day. A ducted is usually completed in a day, but depends on the size of the system and the number of outlets. Marsh Air will give you a specific timeframe in your quote so you can plan around it.

We recommend a service at least once a year, as a minimum. Regular servicing keeps your manufacturer’s warranty valid and keeps the unit running at its best, rather than losing efficiency gradually over a season or two before the drop in performance becomes obvious.

Yes. Marsh Air has access to spare parts across a wide range of air conditioning brands. We prefer to diagnose the fault ourselves first, so we order the correct part the first time, rather than guessing based on a description over the phone.

A reverse cycle air conditioner both heats and cools from the one unit, switching between the two as needed. Cooling-only units are available too, though most Marsh Air clients prefer having both functions on hand once the cooler months set in.

Yes. Marsh Air can decommission, relocate and recommission split systems if you’re renovating or just want the unit somewhere more sensible. Get in touch with the details of your project and we’ll let you know what’s involved before you commit to anything.

Outdoor condensers need clear airflow around them, or you risk voiding the manufacturer’s warranty. We understand they’re not always attractive, so when we quote on site, we’ll work out a sensible spot for the unit and price in any extra pipework that placement needs.

Yes. Marsh Air’s technicians hold ARCtick refrigeration handling licenses, a legal requirement in Australia for anyone handling, recovering or recharging refrigerant. It’s also what lets us properly diagnose gas pressure issues and refrigerant leaks that a general electrical contractor isn’t licensed to touch.

Marsh Air backs every residential installation with a five-year workmanship warranty, separate from the manufacturer’s own product warranty on the unit itself. Commercial installations carry a 12-month workmanship warranty instead, reflecting the different scale, use and duty cycle of commercial equipment.

Home Air Conditioning

Yes. For residential installs, Marsh Air offers payment plans to our customers. We’ll talk you through the options during your free quote, so there are no surprises at the invoice stage.

Marsh Air is a Daikin Specialist Dealer and a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealer for residential installations, and installs both brands rather than pushing one over the other. Which suits your home is something we’ll confirm properly during your free in-home consultation.

For new installations, we’re generally booking one to two weeks out for split systems and two to three weeks for ducted, though this shifts with the season. Winter tends to have shorter waits, which is exactly when we’d recommend getting a new system installed or serviced.

Marsh Air’s residential team covers Brisbane’s northside, including the Hills District, Ferny Grove, The Gap, Mitchelton, Enoggera, Albany Creek, Ashgrove, Bardon, Paddington, Wilston, Newmarket, Chermside, and Samford.

Commercial Air Conditioning & HVAC

Yes. Our technicians have broad experience across commercial refrigeration systems as well as air conditioning, from cool rooms to display fridges. That means a single Marsh Air team can cover both sides of a commercial site’s cooling requirements, rather than you needing two separate contractors.

Yes. Marsh Air can supply a capability statement covering our commercial licensing, trade range and past project experience, which you can request directly from our team or download from the commercial page when preparing a tender submission for your project.

Yes. Marsh Air holds preventative maintenance contracts with commercial clients across South East Queensland, including schools, hotels and office buildings. We maintain a full asset register and service history for each site, and schedule visits during off-peak periods to keep disruption to a minimum.

Marsh Air works across office buildings, schools and other education facilities, hotels and hospitality venues, healthcare facilities, and retail or commercial tenancies. Whether you manage a single site or a whole portfolio, get in touch with the details and we’ll confirm we’re the right fit for your business.

Summer is our busiest period and breakdowns get priority during those months, particularly for clients already on a maintenance contract. If you’re not on a contract and have an urgent issue, call us directly rather than submitting an online enquiry, for the fastest response.

Marsh Air’s commercial team covers Brisbane and South East Queensland broadly, including the CBD, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba. That’s a wider footprint than our residential coverage, so if you’re managing a property outside these areas, get in touch and we’ll confirm.

Yes, through Marsh Electrical, our sister company launched in 2021. Together we can deliver coordinated mechanical and electrical packages on the one project, with a single point of contact rather than you juggling two separate contractors for the same piece of work.
