3 SIGNS YOUR AIR CONDITIONER MAY NEED SERVICING

Like many things, a broken air conditioner is often considered a #firstworldproblem. But mid summer, in Brisbane, when you get home after work.. the frustration of finding your your air conditioner has malfunctioned is real. To be prepared and prevent this from happening where possible, we advise you to book in for your unit to be serviced within the cooler months, to avoid potential breakdowns and uncomfortable temperatures for yourself and your home environment.

So when should you book an appointment with Marsh Air Conditioning? It is recommended on an annual basis but as a general rule – if you notice any signs of a malfunctioning air conditioner.. the sooner the better. Here are 3 common signs to look out for:

Odour: A bad odour radiating from your air conditioner could be due to multiple factors including mould build up, electrical faults, internal damage, leakages or animal infestations. These odours are sure to make you uncomfortable as well as leave you wondering what the underlying issue is.

Leakage: If you start to experience moisture around your AC unit, pools of water or dripping from the unit you are likely dealing with poor maintenance or installation, clogged drain lines, a broken pump and the list goes on. If you notice any unusual moisture, it is recommended that we perform an inspection to ascertain the source of the issue.

Unusual Noises: You may need to schedule an appointment with your air conditioning specialist if you notice unusual noises radiating from your AC unit. These noises could include rattling, clicking, hissing or screeching and can range in noise levels depending on the problem. In the instance of an unusual noise, we advise you turn your unit off and booking an appointment with your air conditioning specialist to prevent potential damage to parts and determine what is causing the noise.
